Terlingua is the far end of Texas — a quicksilver-mining ghost town turned frontier outpost at the western door of Big Bend National Park. The ruins and the cemetery draw photographers, the Starlight Theatre porch draws everyone by sundown, and the park entrance at Study Butte is just up the road. Beyond town, FM 170 runs the River Road through Big Bend Ranch State Park toward Presidio — one of the great drives in America — and TX 118 climbs north eighty-some miles to Alpine, the nearest town of any size.

Out here, lodging is the trip. There are no chains on every corner — just independent motels, casitas, and camps run by people who chose the desert on purpose. Guests book ahead because they have to: the distances are serious, the dark skies are certified-famous, and on chili cookoff week in early November the whole region fills at once.

That makes your website the whole front door. It has to be findable from Austin and Houston, answer the honest questions — how far is the park gate, what's open in summer heat, is there food nearby — and take the booking directly, because every room out here is too scarce to give an app a cut of it.
