One page or many? Sizing your motel website right

A small motel doesn't always need a big website. Here's how to tell whether one page or several is right for you.

Not every motel needs a ten-page website. Some do better with a single, well-built page. Others genuinely need several. The honest answer to "how big should my site be" is: exactly big enough to book rooms and no bigger. Here's how to tell where you land.

When one page is plenty

A single long page — name and photo up top, then rooms, amenities, location, reviews, and a booking button riding along the whole way — can be the perfect motel site. It works well when you have a handful of similar rooms, a simple offering, and a mostly same-day crowd who just want to book tonight. One page loads fast, is dead simple on a phone, and never lets the guest get lost. For a lot of small motels, it's not a compromise — it's the right call.

When you need more

Several pages start to earn their keep when you have more to say and more to rank for:

  • Distinct room types that each deserve their own page and their own photos.
  • A real story or history worth its own About page.
  • Local search to win — separate pages give Google more honest ways to find you for "motel near [landmark]," which helps your local SEO.
  • Extras — events, a cafe, packages — that would clutter a single page.
The right size isn't about looking substantial. It's about giving a guest exactly what they need to book, and giving Google exactly enough to find you.

The trap to avoid

The mistake is padding. Adding pages for the sake of looking bigger — a thin "Gallery," an empty "News," a "Welcome" page that says nothing — spreads your site thin and slows guests down. Every page should earn its place by answering a real question or catching a real search. When we build, we start from what books rooms and stop there. If you're not sure what your property needs, tell us about it and we'll size it honestly.
